International Day Against Homophobia Event

Friday, May 17, 2013, 12-1:30 p.m.
The Loft, University Centre

On Friday, May 17, Memorial University's students’ union (MUNSU) will be celebrating the International Day Against Homophobia – a day with the aim to eliminate homophobia from our campus and society by raising awareness of LGBTQ issues. We will be hosting a screening of the documentary Last Chance. This documentary highlights the story of five LGBT people seeking the right of asylum in Canada in order to escape persecution or homophobic violence in their homelands. Drinks and snacks will be provided. In addition, an information table will also be set up outside of The Loft with campaign materials and a signup sheet for the Campus Pride Coalition. Open to all students, faculty and staff.
