The Department of Geography is pleased to announce the next event in our Scholarship for the Arts Seminar Series.

Dr. Steeve Côté, NSERC Industrial Research Chair, Université Laval

Dr. Côté’s seminar will be followed by a panel discussion on caribou-related issues in Labrador. Panelists include Historian/Geographer Dr. John Sandlos (MUN), Gioia Montevecchi (Food Security Network NL) and caribou researcher Kaitlin Wilson (Teslin, Yukon).

Dr. Steeve Côté, professor at Laval University and NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Integrated Resource Management of Anticosti Island, will be visiting Geography as part of our Scholarship for the Arts Seminar Series and on the invitation of our graduate students. Dr. Côté is a renowned expert on caribou and lead researcher of the Caribou Ungava group. He has been involved in research on the ecology and demography of caribou in Québec and Labrador, investigating patterns of space use, body condition, reproduction, genetics and demography of the George River and Leaf River caribou herds using satellite tracking and field observations.
