Rock Stories of Careers in Geosciences

The upcoming WISE NL-Statoil Speaker Series lecture features Alana Hinchey (PEG - NL) and Melanie Irvine (Department of Natural Resources). They will talk about their current work and give an introspective reflection on their career journeys in geoscience. We will hear about the essential role of software such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in creating digital maps and pinpointing exact positions as well as how climatic conditions are affecting coastal areas in Newfoundland. There will also be a brief introduction to the WISE Student Summer Employment Program.
