Backyard Composting

The City of St. John’s, Waste & Recycling division, has partnered with MUN Botanical Garden and the Multi-Material Stewardship Board (MMSB) to offer residents subsidized backyard compost bins after attending a one-hour information/training session. The city is purchasing the bins through the MMSB and the Botanical Garden is facilitating the training sessions.

Instructors: MUNBG Education Staff Anne Madden and Christine Byers. All session to be held at MUN Botanical Garden, 306 Mount Scio Road, unless otherwise noted.

1) Monday, April 13, 6:30-7:30 p.m. (in Foran Room, City Hall)

2) Wednesday, May 6, 6-7 p.m. (Wedgewood Park)

3) Sunday, May 10, 2-3 p.m.

4) Saturday, May 23, 2-3 p.m.

5) Monday, May 25, 12:30-1:30 p.m.

6) Wednesday, June 3, 6-7 p.m. (Mews Centre)

7) Thursday, June 11, 3:30-4:30 p.m.

8) Monday, June 22, 12:30-1:30 p.m.
