Ottawa Affinity Celebration with Allan Hawco

Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015, 6-9:30 p.m.
Fairmount Château Laurier, 1 Rideau St., Ottawa, Ont.

Award-winning Canadian actor, writer and proud Newfoundlander Allan Hawco is this year’s keynote speaker at our Ottawa Affinity Newfoundland and Labrador Dinner.

Acclaimed co-creator, executive producer and star of the hit series, Republic of Doyle, Allan has also appeared in international feature films (Love and Savagery, Closing the Ring), other television programs and miniseries (Murdoch Mysteries, Book of Negroes) and on stage (A Whistle in the Dark).

As a producer, he has a number of new programs in development including the upcoming limited series, Caught, which is based on the novel of the same name by Lisa Moore, an assistant professor of creative writing at Memorial.

A graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada, Allan has maintained his roots in theatre as founder and co-artistic director-producer of The Company Theatre.

Allan has been honoured with the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Canadian Television Hall of Fame; multiple Gemini nominations for Republic of Doyle; and various nominations for his work as an actor throughout his career.

Proud Memorial alumni, friends, dignitaries and other special guests will join Allan for an unforgettable evening, celebrating Newfoundland and Labrador’s rich culture and heritage.

There will be plenty of food, stories, drink and reasons to celebrate Memorial and Newfoundland and Labrador, while raising money for student scholarships at Memorial.
