Vision 20/20 launched at Grenfell Campus

Grenfell Campus launched Vision 20/20, a strategic plan that will provide a strategic path for the campus for the next five years on May 21.

The launch took place in the Fine Arts atrium at Grenfell Campus.

The strategic planning process began two years ago with several rounds of consultation with students, staff, faculty and community partners.

“That may seem like a long time but we knew we wanted to do it right — to get it right,” said Dr. Mary Bluechardt, vice-president (Grenfell Campus). “And for Grenfell that means having an inclusive process to ensure that the views of the Grenfell community are reflected in the document. So that takes time — time to reflect, continued conversations, various ways and means to feed in.”

Through these discussions and conversations, six themes emerged. As Grenfell looks to the future, it will do so with a commitment to the university’s three frameworks — teaching and learning, research and engagement — as well as in the areas of recruitment and retention, satisfaction and fulfillment, and efficiency and accountability.

Overall, the plan describes a vision for Grenfell that builds on its commitment to student-centred and sustainability-driven approaches.

“Grenfell Campus aims to attract and retain a diverse and growing community of enthusiastic students, staff and faculty who have made Grenfell their campus of choice for education and employment,” said Dr. Bluechardt.
