Showcasing SIFE Memorial: View the World Cup presentation

By Meaghan Whelan | Sept. 15, 2008

For the third consecutive year, SIFE (formerly ACE) Memorial will compete as Team Canada at the prestigious SIFE World Cup in Singapore.

Since being named first runner up at the 2007 Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) World Cup in New York City, SIFE Memorial has been hard at work on 17 different projects that positively impact Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. The projects range from Think Green, a project that taught business skills and environmental awareness to elementary school students to Launch Pad, the first and only incubation centre run by students for students at a Canadian university.

The strength of their projects beat out over 50 other teams from across Canada, earning SIFE Memorial ‘the most enterprising campus in Canada’ title. In October, the team will travel to Singapore to compete against 40 other national champion teams in the hopes of earning the prestigious SIFE World Cup.

Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 6:30 p.m. is the only opportunity to see SIFE Memorial’s 2008 World Cup presentation before the competition begins. The showcase takes place in room 2001 of the Inco Innovation Centre on Memorial’s St. John’s campus.

The SIFE World Cup takes place in Singapore, Oct 1-3.
