New frontiers of research featured in latest magazine

Dec. 3, 2009

Exploration is the theme of the latest issue of Research Matters, Memorial’s magazine devoted to showcasing and sharing innovative and ground-breaking research stories.

The fall 2009 issue has just been published.

It features researchers from diverse backgrounds including engineering, science, the arts, business, medicine, the fishery, nursing, education and human kinetics and recreation.

The magazine, published by the Division of Marketing and Communications for the Office of the Vice-President (Research), also includes award-winning faculty and highlights student researchers.

Each story underscores the central idea of exploring and discovering the new frontiers of research.

Editor Jeff Green said Memorial is rich with researchers investigating a range of issues impacting communities, businesses, industries and people all over the world.

He said the researchers are “treasure hunters mapping uncharted territories, solving problems, exploring the unknown, and pushing themselves – and others – to discover the new frontiers of research.”

The issue is currently being distributed to various locations.
