Prospective students can now access Memorial University’s St. John's campus undergraduate recruitment website with their mobile devices. Today, Memorial University launched a new mobile version of its undergraduate recruitment website m.mun.ca/undergrad and its main site m.mun.ca.

“The Office of Student Recruitment is continually looking for ways to better communicate with prospective students,” said Shona Perry-Maidment, director, Office of Student Recruitment. “By monitoring trends, we see that there is a need to make our recruitment microsite more accessible to prospective students, and developing a mobile site was a good opportunity to do so.”

The new recruitment mobile site, m.mun.ca/undergrad, features easy access to information on Memorial’s undergraduate programs, admissions and fees, campus life and contact information as well as access to Memorial’s undergraduate social media channels. There is also a link to view the full site.

Memorial’s main mobile site, m.mun.ca, includes features such as news and events, emergency information, cancellations, and a phone directory making it easier for faculty, staff and current students to access this information quickly and easily.

“We are increasingly seeing hits to mun.ca from people using mobile devices. Mobile users need quick information and easy navigation to important information,” said Paul Whittle, web manager, Division of Marketing and Communications. “Working hand-in-hand with CCwebworks, we will be extending this mobile capability to other Memorial University sites in the near future.”

The mobile site was developed by a working group involving CCwebworks (a web development group within the department of Computing and Communications), the Division of Marketing and Communications and the Office of Student Recruitment.

Both mobile sites are designed to be compatible with Android, Blackberry and any Apple mobile devices. Anyone accessing Memorial’s undergraduate recruitment microsite, or the main mun.ca website from a mobile device, will be redirected to the appropriate mobile site.
