BMO Financial Group contributes $500,000 to graduate students

BMO Financial Group announced the BMO Financial Group Graduate Scholarship in the Faculty of Business Administration at Memorial University of Newfoundland Thursday, Dec. 1. This scholarship has been established by a contribution over seven years of $500,000 from BMO Financial Group.
One or more scholarships may be awarded annually and eligibility will be based on academic standing. Scholarships will be available to full-time students enrolled in a PhD program in Memorial’s Faculty of Business Administration. These students must meet the minimum academic requirements for a scholarship as defined by the university.
The BMO Financial Group Graduate Scholarship will be awarded by Memorial’s dean of the School of Graduate Studies upon recommendation by the dean of the Faculty of Business Administration.
“Investing in higher education is a cornerstone of the BMO charitable giving program, as learning makes our lives richer, our society more successful and our future brighter,” said Jim Fallon, vice-president, Newfoundland and Labrador, BMO Bank of Montreal. “This $500,000 donation is BMO’s largest ever gift in the province, and we are proud to help Memorial position itself as a destination of choice for graduate business students.”
