Fall convocation ceremonies taking place in St. John’s

Almost 900 degrees will be awarded to graduating students during three sessions of convocation at the St. John’s Arts and Culture Centre.

Memorial held its first session of convocation at the Arts and Culture Centre in Corner Brook Oct. 4.

During the St. John’s sessions, retired chief justice T. Alex Hickman will receive an honorary doctor of laws degree during the 10 a.m. ceremony and businessman Sid Hynes will receive an honorary doctor of laws degree during the 3 p.m. ceremony.

Master boat builder Henry Vokey received an honorary doctor of laws degree at the convocation ceremony in Corner Brook.

Dr. Gary Kachanoski, Memorial’s president and vice-chancellor, will address all three sessions of convocation in St. John’s.
