Genesis Centre seeking entrepreneurs with ideas

The Genesis Centre wants to hear from entrepreneurs with ideas.The Genesis Centre, Memorial University’s business incubator for technology-based ventures with high-growth potential, is accepting applications for its Evolution Program. The program will run this winter.

The Evolution Program is ideal for individuals or groups working on an idea for a product, company or service. Over the course of eight weeks, participants will take part in intensive workshops to further develop their ideas and refine their business models. The program is ideally suited to early stage entrepreneurs who have a business idea.

The program fee is $50 per team member. The deadline for applications is Friday, Jan. 29.

The Genesis Centre is one of the top ranked incubators in Canada and was named Canadian Incubator of the Year in 2011. 

Since it was founded in 1997, the Genesis Centre has helped more than 60 start-ups raise over $85 million in private equity. Genesis alumni are among some of the top companies in Canada including, Verafin, Rutter Technologies, Avalon Microelectronics (acquired by Altera), Solace Power, EMSAT, ClearRisk, Genoa Design and Virtual Marine Technology.
