Shamrocks vs. Kings

To end the outdoor season, Cricket Newfoundland and Labrador partnered with Memorial’s Faculty of Education to arrange a faculty match at the RCAF field in St. John’s on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Professors, graduate students and undergraduate students of a wide range of abilities braved cool temperatures to take part in the game. The players were divided into two teams -- the Shamrocks and the Kings -- for a 10 over match after a coaching session led by provincial team members.

The N.L. Kings won the toss, decided to bat first and made 85 runs in ten overs. Shamrocks achieved the target in the last over.

Barrie Barrel was announced man of the match with three wickets and 15 runs.

The attached picture shows Jennifer Anderson bowling with Barrie Barrel batting and Dean Kirk Anderson fielding. Rakesh Negi of Cricket N.L. is the umpire.
