Karin Rørnes and Jette Steensen of the University of Tromsø in Norway will present their research on students and teachers as entrepreneurs in their local community with a focus on sustainable entrepreneurship, place-based education, and collaborative partnerships between the university and schools.

Karin Rørnes is a lecturer in pedagogics. Her research interests include the collaborative partnership between the university and schools and educational politics in general. She is engaged on the national level in the teacher union. She is the head of the center for action research at the University of Tromsø and has written a book about bullying in school.

Jette Steensen has been an associate professor at the University of Tromsø since September 2014. She was a teacher in Denmark from 1996 - 2013. She holds a master degree in education from the University of Copenhagen and a ph.d. in sociology of education from the University of Aalborg in Denmark. Her main interests are the social context of schooling, school culture and society, place-based teacher education, sustainable entrepreneurship, diversity and multicultural education.
