The Hidden Power of Interactive Activities: Retention, Assessment, and Engagement

Education is riddled with mysteries. How do we retain students? How do we teach them the value of assessment? How do we engage them inside and outside the classroom? This talk resolves these issues by sharing innovative solutions. The first section discusses the power of creating living learning communities that create connections between students, faculty, and community. The second sections offers examples of easy ways to teach students assessment tools that can improve how they understand themselves and others. The final section discusses a variety of strategies to enhance student engagement, including extracurricular activities, friendly in-class competitions, and digital content.
