Applying Systems Approach to Training: Exploring the Opportunities for Cross-pollination from the Canadian Army to Memorial University

Scott Butler draws on his six years of training development experience with both the Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian Army. The objective of this Innovation Rounds presentation and interactive, audience participation session will be to explore if training development principles used in the Canadian Armed Forces can add value to the Memorial’sapproach to simulation based training in health professions. Scott has worked with a diverse range of Canadian Armed Forces occupations from the development of ethics training to Naval Weapons engineering. He worked with the Royal Canadian Navy to build the restructured Naval Engineering Technician occupation from bottom up.
