Cleaning the Works

The annual maintenance shut down has come into effect at The Works, which consists of the Aquarena, Field House and MUN Recreation Facilities in St. John’s. Personnel are busy painting, making repairs to equipment and the facilities. The bulk of the work will be done in the Aquarena where officials have drained the 65-metre swimming pool. Here, workers apply an epoxy coating to the pool’s floor surface. The general public will be affected by the maintenance work. Most programs and services, including the Tim Hortons outlet, will not re-open until the New Year. A complete schedule of the maintenance shut down has been posted on The Works’ Web site.
