Literary adventures

Dr. Don Nichols current Harlow class had a spectacularly uplifting day recently at Waddesdon Manor, the former home of Baron Rothschild in Buckinghamshire, now run by the National Trust. Dr. Nichols, Department of English, Faculty of Arts, was invited to give a lecture there on the subject of Pope & Pop to coincide with an exhibition, co-organized with the Yale Centre for British Art, of the Roubiliac busts of Pope, done circa 1738. Among other activities, the class will have lunch with Kevin OBrien, minister, Advanced Education and Skills, before they head to Stratford next week.
